QDECK GOLD COAST BLAZE
TAKE BASKETBALL TO NEW HEIGHTS
QDeck,
situated atop of World’s Tallest Residential Tower and Australia’s only
beachside Observation Deck, has become an icon of the Gold Coast’s
famous skyline and is now officially the Naming Rights Sponsor of the
tallest sports team on the Gold Coast, the QDeck Gold Coast Blaze.
The
ideal naming rights sponsor for a professional basketball club doesn’t
come along very often but the announcement today of the QDeck Gold
Coast Blaze certainly fits that category.
A perfect match in height, the newest major sporting sponsorship in the country also doubles as a perfect business fit.
“This
is an historic day for the QDeck Gold Coast Blaze. We have been
searching for the right naming rights sponsor for some time now and are
thrilled to join forces with QDeck, an icon in its own right. We look
forward developing a long and highly successful relationship,” co-Owner
of the QDeck Gold Coast Blaze Owen Tomlinson said.
“The
sponsorship contains a number of benefits for our members and corporate
partners as well as the thousands of fans who come along to see us play
over the summer.”
New
for season 2008-09 at all QDeck Gold Coast Blaze home games, is the
brand new QDeck Club which seats over 1,000 people at the southern end
of the court. Every fan who purchases a ticket in this section will
receive a free pass to visit QDeck.
All Blaze members will also receive a free Annual Pass so they can visit the QDeck whenever they like for 12-months.
QDeck CEO Nigel Lane was equally excited about the announcement, sighting some great synergies between the two brands.
“There’s
the height references which has a great fit from a marketing
perspective but from a business point of view there are many areas
where we can assist one another through increased patronage, branding
and by creating new revenue streams,” QDeck CEO Nigel lane said.
“It
is an exciting time for QDeck, we have had some pleasing growth
recently and now, with the QDeck Gold Coast Blaze, we look forward to
offering even more people the chance to experience the stunning views
from the QDeck and the activities on offer up there.”
With
approximately 300,000 annual visitors to QDeck, the QDeck Gold Coast
Blaze also have an opportunity to attract a greater number of
international and interstate visitors to compliment their growing
legion of local fans.
“QDeck
attracts huge numbers of tourists every year, particularly during the
summer when we play at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre
so it is a fantastic opportunity for us to provide tourists with a
ticket package including a visit QDeck to experience the amazing sights
and then enjoy all the action and entertainment of a basketball game
with the QDeck Blaze,” co-Owner Ben Tomlinson said.
Further
to the financial benefits of the sponsorship, the announcement is a
strong endorsement for the Gold Coast, with two of the biggest names on
the Gold Coast joining forces to build not only their own brands but
promotion the Gold Coast as a destination.
